Benchmarking enables an energy user to determine if their consumption of energy is more or less than a site (or sites) with similar characteristics, such as type and size of building.
Performance can be illustrated by source of energy (e.g. electricity, gas) against an average of similar sites or against best practice, enabling appropriate action to be targeted and priorities.
